An early morning fire Tuesday, Dec. 14, gutted the insides of the Bachelor Inn Strip Club south of Coos Bay. Firefighters responded about 6 a.m. to the fire a block off Hwy. 101 in the Bunker Hill District of the Bay Area. Coos Bay Fire Chief Mark Anderson reported the building was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Assisting Coos Bay in fighting the fire were North Bend Fire Dept, Coquille Fire Dept. and Millington Rural Fire Dept. The Coos River Hwy. was closed while firefighters worked the fire. Eastside traffic was detoured down Olive Barber Road to Sumner Road and then north again on Hwy. 101.
