Quick action by a resident on Rhododendron Drive in Florence is being credited with saving the life of a female found floating in the Siuslaw River Dec. 23. According to a report, the U.S. Coast Guard Station Siuslaw River responded with a Ready Crew and located the individual struggling to stay afloat in the frigid waters. She was transported to the Coast Guard Station where EMTs took over and transported her to Peace Health Hospital.
