Report from NB City Administrator – North Bend Parks Superintendent Bryan Owen heard whimpering down an embankment near Simpson Park. He spotted a dog in distress but was unable to make contact. He drove to Pony Slough, hiked around the marsh, and then climbed the embankment. The dog’s leash and harness had gotten tangled in the brush. The dog had been desperately scratching and pulling, trying to free himself. Bryan rescued the dog and took him to the Coos County Animal Shelter.
