Burglary Arrest, March 14

CCSO release – Classification: Burglary II, Unauthroized Use Vehicle (2 Counts), Criminal Mischief III, Theft I, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Theft and Unlawful Use of a Vehicle, Possession of Burglary Tools. Location: 95122 Access Road, Coos Bay, Coos County, Oregon; Suspect(s): Michael Hockema, 21 years old and Kyle Vanalstine, 27 years old; Narrative: On March 9, 2022, at about 3:41 PM, Deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to Access Road in Coos Bay in response to a report of Burglary and Vehicle Theft. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined a four-wheeler and a jeep had been stolen from the property, which had been forcibly entered, as well as several firearms. A watchful citizen observed suspicious activity in the Greenacres area and the suspects were located on Timber Lane. It was determined that 27 year old Kyle Vanalstine and 21 year old Michael Hockema had worked together in order to burglarize the Access Road Property. The vehicles were recovered as well as much of the property. A search warrant was applied for and obtained for the suspect’s vehicle and more property and firearms were recovered. Michael Hockema and Kyle Vanalstine were arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail where they were booked and lodged.
