OSAA Dance
Marshfield’s Dance Team, “The Upbeats” finished seventh Friday at the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union State Dance Championships at Oregon City. Valley Catholic (18.03), of Beaverton, won the 4A/3A/2A/1A title, followed by Stayton (17.22); Astoria (16.08); Banks (15.67); Philomath (15.02); Gladstone (14.72) & Marshfield (14.56).

Marshfield’s baseball team scored in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Cascade 9-8 in a prep non-conference game at Cottage Grover Friday. The Pirates (2-0) are scheduled to play Gladstone, Wednesday, 11:30 a.m., at the Newport Spring Break Tourney. North Bend lost a pair of 5A games by one-run to visiting Crater 6-5, 5-4, Friday at Clyde Allen Field. The Bulldogs (1-2) are scheduled to play Clatskanie Monday, 3 p.m., at the UVC Tournament, Umpqua Valley Christian School, Roseburg.

North Bend’s softball team dropped both games of a 5A doubleheader to visiting Crater Friday at the Oak St. Fields 13-1 & 21-0. The Bulldogs (0-2) are scheduled to play Central Monday, 10 a.m., at the North Medford Spring Break Invitational, US Cellular Field, Medford. Marshfield’s softball team is scheduled to play Toledo, 11 a.m., Monday, at the Newport Spring Break Tourney, broadcast live on FM 105.1 KMHS and streamed at http://www.kmhsonline.com.​
