Marshfield’s softball team finished the Newport Spring Break Tournament on a winning note Tuesday with a 9-8 decision over Newport. The Lady Pirates (3-2) are scheduled to play at Brookings-Harbor on Monday, March 28.

Marshfield opens the Newport Spring Break Invitation Baseball Tournament Wednesday with two-games at Frank Wade Field in Newport. The Pirates are scheduled to play Gladstone at 11:30 a.m., and Taft at 2 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on FM 105.1, KMHS and streamed at www.kmhsonline.com

North Bend’s baseball team beat Pilot Rock 12-0 Tuesday at the UVC Spring Break Tournament, Roseburg. The Bulldogs (0-2, 3-2) are scheduled to play Horizon Christian, Tualatin, Wednesday, 3 p.m., and Umpqua Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m.

North Bend’s softball team split a pair of games in Southern Oregon Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs beat North Salem 8-4, but lost to Mazama 10-0. North Bend (0-2, 1-5) is scheduled to play at Ashland on April 2, 1 p.m.
