City of Coos Bay Newsletter, April 8, 2022 – “The City of Coos Bay partnered with local artist Mike Vaughan to clean a mural that the artist completed 32 years ago. This piece of art is a Coos Bay icon which has been seen by hundreds of thousands of travelers throughout the years. City staff were on site to block off the area and provided the equipment to hoist Vaughan high enough to clean his work. A sincere thank you to Mike Vaughan for this ongoing contribution to the community.
