Windows: Replace vs. Restore, April 11

Free presentation on historic window replacement and future grant fund opportunity. City of Coos Bay release – Windows in historic buildings are a hot topic and with so much conflicting information who do you believe? The Oregon State Historic Preservation Office is your best information source. On Monday, April 11, 2022, from 2-4 p.m., Restoration Specialist Joy Sears will present information on wood windows replacement issues: myths, repairs, upgrades, and other considerations. Historic property owners, contractors, historic preservation organization members, and interested parties can take advantage of this hybrid virtual/in- person learning opportunity. Contact Debbie Erler, Planner II at planning@coosbay.org or 541-269-1181, ext. 2259 to learn more, be added to the virtual meeting invitation or verify a spot in the Council Chambers at 500 Central Avenue. This presentation is very timely as the City of Coos Bay has been awarded a $15,713 state grant to be made available for qualified historic structures for restoration projects. Upon acceptance of the grant by the Urban Renewal Agency, the City will advertise funding availability. Watch the Friday Updates in April for additional grant information or contact Debbie Erler.
