A grassy area on the west side of Hwy. 101 burned Saturday, Sept. 24, causing a power outage for Central Lincoln PUD and a traffic backup for responding fire equipment. News alert at the time, 2:24pm from ODOT, “ODOT: SW Oregon: U.S. 101: All lanes of U.S. 101 are closed about five miles north of North Bend (MP 230) due to a wildfire near the sides of the road. Fire crews are on scene. Traffic is being detoured onto Wildwood Road. Expect delays and use alternate routes.”
