Visiting Hidden Valley spoiled North Bend’s opening home girl’s prep basketball game Saturday as the Mustangs won 36-35. The Bulldogs (2-1) are scheduled to host Toledo on Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. Hidden Valley also won the boy’s game, 42-37. North Bend (2-1) will host Toledo Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Marshfield’s girls dropped two non-conference prep basketball games at the Madras Tournament. The Lady Pirates fell to Astoria Friday 64-46 and on Saturday lost to the host White Buffaloes 57-22. Marshfield (1-2) is scheduled to play at Brookings-Harbor Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.

Marshfield’s wrestling team was seventh and North Bend 12th at the sixteen-team 2022 Battle at the Border, Del Norte HS, Crescent City, Saturday. Del Norte took first, followed by Grants Pass and So. Medford. Pirate results: 106 – Garran Custin, sixth; 113 – Trayton Forbes, sixth; 120 – Reese Hite, third; 132 – Bailey Thompson, second; 152 – Johnny Calvert, second; 285 – Bryson Harvey, fourth. North Bend results: 145 – Wyatt Smith, sixth; 220 – Neal Walter, first. Marshfield will host Crook Co., Henley in Duals Thursday, 5 p.m., Coos Bay. North Bend will host the annual Coast Classic Friday & Saturday.
