It ended up being a “split weekend” for both Oregon and Oregon State men’s basketball against the Southern California schools. At Eugene, Oregon beat USC on Thursday 78-60, but the Ducks fell to UCLA on Saturday 70-63. Oregon (9-6, 15-11) plays at Washington, Seattle, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 8 p.m., ESPNU. At Corvallis Saturday, Oregon State beat USC 61-58. The Beavers lost at home to UCLA Thursday 62-47. OSU (4-11, 10-16) plays at Washington State, Thursday, Feb. 16, 8 p.m., ESPNU.

Not a good weekend for the Ducks and Beavers in women’s basketball at Southern California. Oregon lost Friday at USC 56-51, and then dropped a 67-57 game Sunday at UCLA. The Ducks play at Washington State on Friday, 7 p.m., Pac-12 Oregon. Oregon State lost to UCLA Friday 62-54 and then to USC Sunday 60-56. OSU (3-11, 11-14) is at Washington Friday, 7 p.m., Pac-12 Washington.

Oregon opened the collegiate softball season at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Mexico. The Ducks lost to Maryland 7-3 Thursday, beat Wisconsin 4-2 Friday but lost to Oklahoma State 3- Friday. On Saturday, Oregon beat Ole Miss 9-3 and topped North Dakota State 4-3 on Sunday. The Ducks (3-2) play in the Campbell/Cartier Classic at San Diego beginning Friday, 9 a.m., against Utah State. Oregon State opened at the LSU Invitational. The Beavers beat New Mexico 2-0 Friday, lost to New Mexico 8-0 Saturday, and to LSU 12-0. On Sunday, OSU beat Nicholls 6-3, but lost to LSU 3-0. Oregon State (2-3) is at the ASU Littlewood/GCU Classic, Tempe, AZ Thursday, Feb. 16, 2:30 p.m. against Illinois State.
