Attempted Assault, Arson, Lakeside, Feb. 15

CCSO release – Date / Time: February 14th, at 10:47 a.m.; Case Number(s): S23-03539; Classification: Attempted Assault I, Attempted Arson I, Menacing (D); Location: 701 Airport Way, Lakeside, Oregon; Suspect(s): Peter Sialaris (61) years of age, from Lakeside; Information to be released: On February 14th 2023 at 10:47 a.m. Sgt. J. Clayburn and several other deputies responded to the Lakeside area to a report of a woman who had accelerant poured on her and was subsequently nearly lit on fire. The victim was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to a local medical facility. During an investigation Sgt. Clayburn determined the suspect was Peter Sialaris (61) years of age of Lakeside. Probable cause for Mr. Sialaris arrest was established on the charges of attempted assault I, attempted arson I, and menacing domestic. Officers surrounded Mr. Sialaris’ residence believing him to be inside. The Emergency Response Team (ERT), which is a multi-agency team, was activated and responded to the suspect address inside the city of Lakeside. A search warrant was obtained and subsequently, Mr. Sialaris’ residence was searched, however he was not located. A short time later Mr. Sialaris returned to his residence on foot, was interviewed by law enforcement about the incident and taken into custody without issue. Mr. Sialaris was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked on the charges of attempted assault I, attempted arson I, and menacing domestic.
