Marshfield’s girls finished fifth at the OSAA/On Point Community Credit Union 4A State Basketball Championships Saturday at Forest Grove HS. The Lady Pirates opened the tournament on Thursday with a 57-48 win over Henley. However, on Friday, Marshfield fell in the championship semi-finals to eventual State Champion Baker 45-27. On Saturday, in the third place/fifth place game with Astoria, the Lady Pirates lost 51-34. Marshfield senior Kate Miles was named to the All-Tournament First Team. The senior scored 39-points in three-games for a 13.0 points per game average, seventh best. Cascade won the boy’s championship over Philomath.
