Adverse Childhood Experiences Programs and Self-regulation and Resiliency at Lakeside Public Library, April 28

At 5:45 pm on Thursday, April 28th the Lakeside Public Library is teaming up with South Coast Together to offer a workshop on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in the Lakeside City Council Chambers. Dinner will be provided. On May 13th a follow-up workshop: Self-Regulation and Resiliency, will be provided at 1:00 p.m. in the Lakeside City Council Chambers. Both of these events are free. The 1998 CDC/Kaizer study of Adverse Childhood Experiences led to new understandings of the links between abuse, neglect, and dysfunction in childhood and health outcomes including asthma, lowered immunity, heart disease, and elevated risks of cancer and early death.  The ACEs training on April 28th, Understanding ACEs: Building Self-Healing Communities, will focus on ACEs and their effects. The follow-up training on May 13th, Self-Regulation and Resilience explores strategies for self-care and the tools for building resilience. Both of these events will be in person with limited space available at the Lakeside City Council Chambers. For those wishing to attend, please sign up for the ACEs training by calling Tammy Aley at 541-808-7244 or going to https://forms.office.com/r/LrnS6H7CVk and for the Self-regulation and Resilience training by going to https://forms.office.com/r/H4DFyqaN46. As space is limited, requests will be honored on a first-registered, first-served basis.
