Airplane Mystery, July 25

Newport city officials are investigating the discovery of a small airplane found abandoned on a grass shoulder at the Municipal Airport in South Beach, Wednesday morning, July 20. The twin-engine Cessna 310 was spotted south of the terminal by a pilot landing his aircraft. It was next to Runway 20 with its landing gear up. No one was around. The private plane is reportedly owned by an individual who lost his license in 2014 for running an illegal airline.
