An alleged burglar, who previously failed to appear for numerous court appearances, was sentenced to 25-months in custody by a Coos Co. Circuit Court Judge Monday, July 14. According to a news release from the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT), Samuel Joseph Clifton was found guilty July 3 by a twelve-person jury of drug charges involving Methamphetamines and Marijuana. Clifton was identified as a suspect in a burglary on East Bay Drive back in December of 2012. A search warrant was executed at his Cape Arago Hwy. residence on Dec. 20, 2012. Property stolen during the burglary was recovered and returned to the victim. “In addition to the stolen property there was a non-compliant marijuana grow located in addition to scales, packaging material and a purported zip gun.” Clifton will also have 36-months of post prison supervision following his release.
