Mark Anderson went from interim Fire Chief to new Coos Bay Fire Chief Tuesday night when City Manager Rodger Craddock announced his appointment before the City Council. Anderson, a 24-year veteran of the department, replaces Stan Gibson who stepped down over health concerns.
