The proposed multi-million dollar liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal for Coos Bay’s North Spit suffered another setback this week when the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) stated that the proponents of the development failed to show the project is consistent with Coastal Zone Management Act of Oregon. That decision follows an earlier denial by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to not overturn a state permit denial for a water certification permit.
