The McKenzie Pass Highway through the Oregon Cascades has closed as of Thursday, Nov. 13, because of snowfall. The scenic route is not maintained and is closed on an annual basis throughout the Winter Season. The highway runs west from Sisters to Hwy. 126 on the McKenzie River east of Springfield. Recent snowfall produced a six-inch accumulation forcing the closure. It is scheduled to reopen June 15, 2015. The north entrance to Crater Lake is another early season sign. It is normally closed during the winter months, while the south entrance remains open to the park.
