The “Armchair Film Adventure” series at Coos Bay Public Library continues on Tuesday, December 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the Myrtlewood Meeting Room.  An installment in World’s Most Beautiful Places, Lighthouses is this month’s feature. Witness the sheer beauty of these elegant lighthouses in their unspoiled, scenic natural surroundings, and learn a bit of their history. Features include: Portland Head Lighthouse – considered to be the quintessential New England lighthouse, this was built in 1791 to serve the busiest harbor in Maine: Pigeon Point Lighthouse – named for a clipper ship that sank nearby, this picturesque lighthouse is the tallest on the Pacific Coast; Heceta Head Lighthouse – at 56 feet tall, this beam is visible for 21 miles making it the strongest light on the Oregon Coast. Also included are Owl’s Head, Hospital Point & Winter Island Light, Pemaquid Point, Hendricks Head Light, Cape Elizabeth Light, Chatham Light, Battery Point, Umpqua River Lighthouse, Point Arena, Trinidad Head and many more!
