On April 3, 2018, shortly after 6am, Harney County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an armed robbery that occurred at the Bare Bones Store in Hines and the suspect had fled the scene.  A major crime team callout was subsequently initiated.  Oregon State Police Detectives and Patrol Troopers along with officers from the Hines Police Department, Burns Police Department, and Harney County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation. The initial investigation revealed a female employee at Bare Bones was held at gunpoint and struck on her head, causing injury.  The victim was not transported for her injury.  Cash and other items, were stolen from the store before the suspect fled.  The suspect was identified as 28 year old Joseph HOAGLEN from Hines.  The Oregon State Police SWAT team assisted investigators with the execution of a search warrant at a Hines area residence.  Evidence associated with the robbery and theft was located and seized.  HOAGLEN was taken into custody without incident by the Oregon State Police and lodged at the Harney County Jail for Robbery I, Robbery II, Robbery III, Burglary II, Assault I, Assault II, Assault IV, Theft II, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
