CBPD release – On October 14, 2020, at 07:44 AM, Coos Bay Police Department responded to a report of two vehicles that had been entered in front of a residence in Englewood area of Coos Bay. The victim advised that multiple purses had been stolen out of the vehicles and that a fraudulent charge had already been made by the suspect with one of her cards at a nearby business. The officer responded to the business and contacted an employee who advised she was familiar with the suspect but refused to provide his name. The officer was eventually able to identify the suspect, locating him approximately two hours after the initial call and recovered nearly all the property that was stolen from the vehicles. Tristin Fields, a 21-year-old male from Coquille, was taken into custody on charges of two counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, theft in the second degree, identity theft, 2 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of a restricted weapon and probation violation. Fields was transported to the office of Coos County Parole and Probation and released to his probation officer for transport to the Reedsport City Jail.
