The Coos Bay Public Library September art display will feature Pat Cink’s “coastal light” paintings. These paintings capture ocean sunsets, forest paths and local scenes from Mingus Park and Shore Acres. Cink’s goal is to paint the varying coastal light as it reflects off the ocean or filters through the lush forests. Her media includes soft pastels on sanded paper or watercolor on Yupo paper. Since moving to the area four years ago she has received local, regional and international recognition. Her paintings were selected for the International Association of Pastel Societies 2015 Web Show and the UART 2016 Online Pastel Competition. In the most recent Expressions West Show at the Coos Art Museum, she received an Honorable Mention for “Johnson Creek Mist” and an Award of Merit for “Under the Boardwalk.” Pat Cink is represented by the Second Street Gallery in Bandon, (secondstreetgallery.net [1]).
