News release CBPD. On 12/06/16 at around 4:45 pm, Coos Bay Police Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle traffic accident on Koos Bay Blvd, near Teakwood. When officers and medics arrived, it was discovered that the male operator had additional injuries to his chest and arm not sustained from the crash. The male driver told first responders that his wife had caused the additional injuries. The male was transported to Bay Area Hospital for treatment. During the subsequent investigation, it was learned that the male driver’s wife had inflicted the injuries to him earlier at their residence. Subsequently, Alicia Helms of Coos Bay was arrested for Assault II and was transported to the Coos County Jail where she was lodged.
