News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On August 29, 2016, at about 1500 hours, deputies responded to 62894 Highway 101 in Coos Bay, for a possible dispute. Deputies contacted husband and wife, Weylin and Angela Silva. Angela reported to the deputies, Weylin had hit her in the head with a hammer and forced her into the bedroom closet. Angela had injuries to her head and right hand from the dispute. Angela said she wanted to call 911 earlier, but Weylin had taken her cell phone away from her and she had no way of calling 911. Weylin refused to speak with the deputies about anything involving the dispute. Weylin Silva was arrested for Assault II, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Menacing. Weylin was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and lodged on the above charges.
