On Monday, February 5, 2018, deputies were called to the Loves Travel Stop in the Green District for a report of a man who had been asked to leave the premise and refused. The caller stated the male had been aggressive with employees and tried to hit them. Deputies contacted the male in the parking lot of the business. As the deputies were speaking to the male, he attempted to assault one of the deputies. The male resisted being taken into custody. One deputy attempted to deploy his TASER device, which was unsuccessful. After a brief struggle, the male was taken into custody with the assistance of bystanders. The suspect was identified as 36 year-old Klamath Falls resident Jack Arvin Barker. He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of: – Criminal Trespass II; – Resisting Arrest; – Assault on a Public Safety Officer; – Disorderly Conduct II; – Harassment.
