Attempt to Elude, June 20

News release CCSO.  On June 17, 2017 at about 1512 hours, deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop an Orange colored Polaris RZR for not having a red or orange flag upon it as required by law.  Upon making the stop, the male operator refused to give any information to the stopping deputy and went into his trailer and locked it.  The male refused to come out when ordered by deputies. It was learned the operator, Herbert Ernest Camp, had a suspended license at a felony level.  A search warrant was obtained and entry was made into Camp’s trailer where he was arrested without further incident for Felony Driving While Suspended, Interfering with a Peace Officer and Elude on Foot. Mr. Camp was also found to be on probation out of Clatsop County, Oregon.  Mr. Camp’s probation officer was contacted and he is being held for a probation violation as well. Additionally, Mr. Camp was cited for the equipment violation of No Flag and the county ordinance violation of possessing alcoholic beverages in the dunes.  The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by troopers from the Oregon State Police – Coos Bay Field Office.
