News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On November 22, 2016 at 1145 hours the Coos County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a call regarding the theft of a motor vehicle from 96828 Highway 42, Coquille, Oregon. An unidentified male subject took from the address, a 1997 Chevrolet 4×4 pickup. The truck proceeded towards Coos Bay and a short while later a short pursuit ensued initiated by the Coos Bay Police Department in Bunkerhill. Officers of the Coos Bay Police Department assisted by the Sheriff’s Office took into custody the operator of the vehicle on Mullen Street in Coos Bay. The operator was identified as 43 year old Martin Patrick Miller a resident of Coos Bay. It was determined Mr. Miller had been released hours earlier from the Coos County Jail for Unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Miller removed items from the stolen vehicle belonging to the owner and was found to be in possession of them. Mr. Miller was arrested without incident and transported to the Coos County Jail.
