CCSO release – On January 15th, 2021 at approximately 7:30 PM, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that a male, later identified as 47 year old Shaun Nix, was refusing to leave a residence after being asked to. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office arrived and attempted to persuade Shaun to leave the property, even offering him a ride to his residence. Shaun appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic. After being given an opportunity to depart the property, Shaun attempted to re-enter the residence when Deputies placed him into custody. Shaun attempted to resist and pull away from the Deputies while he was being placed into custody, as well as kicking one of the Deputies. Shaun was carried to the patrol vehicle and transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked and lodged for Criminal Trespass II, Harassment, Interfering with a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest and attempted Assault on a Public Safety Officer.
