News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On March 16, 2014 at about 4:17 pm, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Barry Bruster responded to a report of a suicidal male subject armed with a knife who was attempting to break into a residence on Lemwick Lane in Yachats. The investigation revealed that Anthony Buccella, age 36 of Yachats, had broken into his ex-girlfriend’s residence and stabbed her with a knife causing injury. Buccella fled the scene prior to police arrival, but prior to fleeing, made threats he would shoot police. After a two hour search, Lincoln County Deputies located Buccella and took him in custody without further incident. Assisting in the search were members of Oregon State Police and the US Forest Service. After his arrest, Buccella was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on charges of Attempted Murder, Burglary I, Domestic Assault II, Domestic Menacing, and Criminal Mischief I. Buccella’s bail was set at $315,000. The victim was treated on scene by medical personnel for a non-life threatening injury.
