CCSO release – Location: South 8th Street & Park Avenue; Suspect(s): Michael James Benitez, 27 years old & Dominique Michelle Stemen, 21 years old. Narrative: The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance with any information about a shooting that took place on 04-26-2022 at 12:53 AM near the intersection of South 8th Street and Park Avenue Lakeside Oregon. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is also seeking public assistance in any information leading to the location of 27 year old Michael James Benitez, who is the primary suspect in the incident. Benitez should be treated as armed and dangerous and not approached. Benitez was last seen driving a black 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee bearing Oregon License Plate 913JFE, it is reported that there was a white sticker with the word “FOX” On the rear window. 21 year old Dominique Michelle Stemen is a person of interest and being sought for questioning. Stemen was last seen with Benitez on the night of the event. Benitez and Dominique are thought to have possibly fled to the Eugene area but that has not been confirmed.
