Attempted Robbery Eastside, May 17

CBPD release – On May 15, 2019, at approximately 2238 hours, Coos Bay Police Officers responded to the 600 block of E Street in Eastside, for a reported robbery. It was reported that a male subject pointed a gun at a female and asked for her purse. Officers made contact with the female victim. The victim advised that when she got home, a male suspect approached her while she was opening the back door of her vehicle. The male suspect pointed a chrome in color handgun at her, and demanded her purse. The victim fled into her nearby home, and the police were called. It is unknown where the suspect fled when the female ran into her home. A perimeter was set up and K9 Odin was called to the scene. K9 Odin was not able to locate the suspect. Coos Bay Police Officers were assisted by the Oregon State Police and the Coos County Sherriff’s Office during the search for the suspect. The suspect is described as a white male adult, having light colored hair, wearing a grey hoodie, light colored blue jeans, and a camo facemask covering his face. The suspect was described as being six-foot-tall, weighing approximately two hundred and twenty pounds, and approximately thirty years of age.
