News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On June 25th, 2014 at about 3:33 p.m. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies were contacted by a 25 year old Waldport man who reported an assault and attempted robbery in a remote area of Seal Rock off of US Forest Service Road #5100, also known as N Elkhorn Rd. The victim reported at about 12:00 p.m. he encountered two male subjects in a campsite off Elkhorn Road and when the victim got out of his vehicle one of the subjects demanded his keys, wallet, and cell- phone. The victim reported when he refused one of the suspects punched him several times causing injury. The victim was able to break away from the suspect however both suspects then gave chase and caught up to him and another struggle ensued. The victim was able to get away from the suspects and escape into the trees and made his way down to the roadway. The victim was able to flag down a passing motorist who provided him a ride out of the area to get help. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to area and located the victim’s vehicle with significant damage in the area where the incident occurred. A search was conducted however the suspects were not located. The suspects were described as white or Native American males, one approximately 25 years of age and the second approximately 35 years of age with black hair. The suspects were believed to be operating a large white four door sedan described as a “boat style” car.
