News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On Saturday, 6/11/16 at about 1503 hours, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about an ATV accident at 93879 Lamont Lane, Coos Bay. It was reported a juvenile had crashed the ATV he was operating causing serious injuries. Fire Personal from Millington Fire Department and Paramedics from Bay Cities Ambulance responded to the residence to provide medical aid. After arriving on scene Coos County Sheriffs Deputies learned the victim, 8 year old Diavik Neilsen was operating an ATV on his parent’s property (Dan Neilsen, father) on Lamont Lane, when the 4 wheeler overturned and landed on top of him causing life threatening injuries. Diavik Neilsen was taken by ambulance to Bay Area Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The investigation is still ongoing.
