On February 25, 2016 at approximately 11:00 am, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an ATV injury accident on BLM property near the top of South Deer Creek Road. Nicholas Woodson, 36 years of age, from Roseburg and Ambrose Brower, 19 years of age, from Sutherlin were working in the area for a local logging company when the ATV they were using flipped. Both Woodson and Brower were thrown from the ATV. Brower was unhurt, but Woodson suffered injuries and was transported via life-flight to Riverbend Hospital. Douglas County Search and Rescue volunteers, Douglas County deputies and Douglas County Fire District #2 personnel assisted in carrying the victim approximately one mile to the landing zone for the life-flight helicopter.
