CCSO release – Case Number: 202300036108; On December 19th, 2023, Deputy K. Mong responded to a residence on Highway 101 in Bandon for a large-scale burglary of a residence. It was reported that several firearms and several hundred thousand dollars in cash, gold, and silver were stolen from the property. An investigation was initiated with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Douglas County Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) and spearheaded by the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT) and the Coos County Sheriff’s Office. This investigation resulted in the application and service of (6) search warrants in Coos, Curry, and Douglas Counties. Several firearms, over one hundred thousand dollars in currency, (3) vehicles, and pounds of various controlled substances, including methamphetamine and marijuana, have been seized. To date, the investigation has resulted in the following arrests: Matthew Knapp: (45) Burglary I, Aggravated Theft I, Theft I (2 counts), Criminal Mischief I. Daniel Knapp: (55) Theft I, Burglary I, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Kyle Vanalstine: (29) Burglary I, Theft I (2 counts) with pending charges for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine. Rebecca Aseere: (23) Pending charges for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine.
