A fund-raiser for Bandon Feeds the Hungry will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Sprague Theatre in Bandon. According to Coordinator Amy Moss Strong, “We plan to have an entertaining variety show with Masters of Ceremony Mike Dempsey and Neal Davis (geniuses of comedic timing), and a great variety of acts, including singing, dancing, instrumentals and even a one-man band (think Dick VanDyke in “Mary Poppins.”) It’s going to a great show, and our plan is to keep it short and sweet this year.” BFH benefits all five food assistance programs in Bandon and according to Moss Strong, the need is great. “Did you know that 65 percent of Bandon schoolchildren are on free or reduced-prices lunches? And that the local food banks can barely keep up with the need? Senior Citizens are particularly vulnerable to food insecurity issues.”
