News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On February 2, 2015 deputies in the Lincoln County Jail discovered inmates trading prescription medications. During a cell inspection, Deputy Ben Cloud discovered prescription medication hidden in an inmate’s jail issued property. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that Inmate Ricky Eugene Pharr, age 59, was concealing medication that was issued to him by medical staff, inside his mouth. Once Pharr had recovered the issued medication, he was trading it to Daniel Felix Garcia-Mendoza, age 22, another inmate in the Lincoln County Jail. The investigation revealed that Pharr was trading two separate prescription medications to Garcia-Mendoza in exchange for coffee. Both inmates, Pharr and Garcia-Mendoza were charged criminally for 3 counts of Unlawful Barter of Prescription Drugs, a class A misdemeanor. Both subjects remain in custody on these charges as well as already pending charges.
