Bay area residents are invited to dine for free at a Coos Bay restaurant on Thanksgiving Day. Joe and Tricia Benetti, owners of Benetti’s Italian Restaurant, are inviting community members to enjoy a complimentary Thanksgiving dinner at their restaurant from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27. The traditional Thanksgiving meal, which will feature turkey and all the trimmings, will be served free of charge, as a way for the Benetti’s and their staff to thank the community for their ongoing support. “Now more than ever were realize the importance of family,” Joe Benetti said. “The Coos Bay area and the community have been family to us and we want to give something back.” Benetti’s staff, family and friends will be volunteering their time to help serve the dinner. Oregon Coast Culinary Institute students will be assisting in preparing the dinner. Other sponsors include Sysco, Food Services of America, Oregon Pacific Bank and Day Ship Supply. No reservations will be available for this special meal. Diners will be served as they arrive. Benetti’s Italian Restaurant is located at 260 S. Broadway in downtown Coos Bay.
