The biggest quake to strike Cape Mendocino in the last couple of years, rocked early Saturday morning, July 29. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 5.1-magnitude quake was located west to northwest of Ferndale, CA where two fault lines begin that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. That was followed by a 4.6-magnitude quake in the same area Saturday, July 29, west to northwest of Eureka, CA.
