The biological father of a four-month old baby boy who died at his hands was sentenced Friday, Aug. 2, to 10-years in prison. According to a news release from Coos Co. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, Michael Dean Bowman appeared before Judge Martin Stone. He sentenced Bowman to 120-months in prison and 36-monts of post-prison supervision for Count 1: Manslaughter in the First Degree; Count 2 : 90-months in prison, followed by 36-months post-prison supervision, “to be served concurrentlywith Count 1, and; Count 3: 13-months in prion for Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree, followed by 36-months of post-prison supervision, “to be served concurrently with Counts 1 and 2.” Bowman will be transferred to the custody of the Oregon Department of Corrections.
