Due to the increased fire danger on BLM managed lands on the South Coast, the Coos Bay District of the BLM is tightening campfire restrictions and only allowing portable cooking stoves that use liquified or bottled fuels. As of July 22, 2023, 12:01 a.m., campfires will only be permitted at Loon Lake, Smith River Falls and Edson Ck. Campgrounds. Visitors are also required to carry tools to help put out any small fires quickly.
