North Spit, BLM release. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) plans to install the docks at the North Spit boat ramp on March 27, 2018. The BLM removes the docks from the bay each fall to prevent damage by winter storms. In conjunction with the dock installation, the BLM will be removing a concrete island from within the parking lot at the boat ramp. The BLM received feedback from visitors that the island made it difficult for vehicles with boat trailers to maneuver through the parking lot. This change will make the parking lot and bay more accessible to anglers. The BLM strives to be a good neighbor to the communities we serve, where we provide opportunities for hunting and fishing on public lands. Additional facilities at the BLM’s North Spit boat ramp include a launch ramp, boat trailer parking, and restrooms.
