BLM Offers Additional Junior Explorer Programs at New River, Aug. 28

Join the Coos Bay District of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at the New River Nature Center for an August full of fun activities. The agency will offer a series of Junior Explorer programs, developed for children 5 to 13 years old. Below is a list of the scheduled activities: The World of Habitats – August 29 – 1 p.m. Explore New River with the BLM Ranger to discover the area’s diverse habitats and the animals that call them home. Each child should bring sunscreen, a hat and water. Each of the events begins at the New River Nature Center, located at the BLM’s New River Area of Critical Environmental Concern south of Bandon, Oregon. Take Highway 101 south 8.5 miles to Croft Road. Coming from the south, Croft Road is 4.5 miles north of Langlois, Oregon. Follow Croft Road 1.5 miles to the west. Take the right fork at the New River sign and follow the gravel road to the parking area and nature center.
