Blood Semi Wrecks on Hwy. 58, Nov. 5

On November 4, 2015 at about 1AM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Highway 58 near milepost 31 (just west of Oakridge). Initial reports were a commercial motor vehicle ran off the highway and the driver was trapped. Upon emergency crews arriving on scene they discovered a tractor towing a box trailer tipped over an embankment on it’s right side. The driver and co-driver were transported to Sacred Heart Riverbend for non-life threatening injuries. Investigation has revealed Kent R OSGOOD, age 43, of Tarrant, Texas, was operating a 2015 Freightliner towing a refrigerated box trailer (eastbound) when he drifted off the roadway and into the ditch. The passenger, Manuel RODRIGUEZ, age 58, is from San Antonio, Texas. The carrier of the vehicle is FFE transportation services Inc. of Lancaster, Texas. The truck was loaded with 100 cases (30,000 pounds) of frozen blood/plasma being transported for medical purposes. The eastbound lane of Hwy 58 was closed for over 6 hours as the truck and trailer were recovered. OSGOOD was cited for Fail to Maintain Lane.
