Nice, warm Spring weather has been helping South Oregon Coast communities to launch their participation in the state’s Blue Line Project aimed at increasing tsunami awareness. The City of Coos Bay is involved in the pilot project along with the cities of Florence, Reedsport and Gold Beach. In the Bay Area, blue stripes were applied to certain strategic city streets as of Tuesday, March 29. The project, which is basically large painted blue tsunami warning signs, is being funded by the Oregon Office of Emergency Management. The warning signs in the Bay Area are being installed on Hall Ave., in the Empire District, Central Avenue, and Eastside.
