CCSO news release. On 12-16-17, the body of Jonathan Dow ( 61 yoa of North Bend, Oregon) was found floating near the Coos Bay shipping channel at the north end of the bay approximately ½ mile west of the McCullough Bridge. Dow had been reported as missing from the Glasgow area on 12-14-17. A search of the bay by Coos County Sheriff’s Office Marine Deputies, on 12-15-17, was unsuccessful in locating Dow. On the morning of 12-16-17, workers in the North Spit area observed Dow’s body floating near their work area and called the Sheriff’s Office. The cause and manner of death of Mr. Dow is being investigated by the Coos County Medical Examiner’s Office but foul play is not suspected.
