An autopsy and initial forensic examination by the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office identified human remains found last Saturday in the Wolf Creek area as missing 44-year old TIMOTHY DALE FENIMORE. The cause of death hasn’t been confirmed at this time.  FENIMORE, who was living in Newberg, was missing under suspicious circumstances after he was last seen April 18, 2014 while visiting an area residence. He reportedly left on foot and wasn’t seen or heard from. OSP issued news releases April 23 and April 30 requesting the public’s help to find him.  On May 17 at approximately 1:45 p.m., OSP Southern Command Center dispatch was notified that couple was walking along Lower Grave Creek in the 8100 block of Lower Grave Creek Road and found what appeared to be a body. An OSP trooper initially responded and confirmed the report. OSP detectives and forensic personnel responded to gather evidence and recovered the remains for positive identification by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.  The autopsy and forensic examination was done Tuesday, May 20. The remains will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Clackamas for further examination by an OSP forensic anthropologist.  Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigations Division, with the assistance of the OSP Forensic Services Division, State Medical Examiner’s Office, and Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, are continuing the investigation. OSP Detective Deanna Harris is the lead investigator.  Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at (541) 474-3174 or email tips in this case to crimetips2OSP@state.or.us.
