NBPD news release. On 01-23-2081 at approximately 11:44 am, local fisherman reported seeing a deceased person along the shoreline near Menasha property in the City of North Bend. Officers from the North Bend Police Department along with North Bend Fire Emergency Medical Personnel and Oregon State Police responded to the area and located a deceased adult male. The deceased person was identified as 56 year old Coos Bay resident Willard Dean Canfield. Mr. Canfield is the subject of a Coos Bay Police Department missing persons report filed on 12-19-2017. A thorough investigation is being conducted and is ongoing.
