Boy Scout Troop Donates Empire Christmas Tree, Dec. 4

On Saturday, December 5th at 5:00 PM the annual Empire Christmas Tree Lighting will take place next to Star of Hope (657 Newmark Avenue). Santa will arrive on his Fire Engine with Santa’s special guest “Scooby Doo”. Troop #9 Boy Scouts of North Bend has been going strong for 90 years. The Troop is chartered by the Kiwanis Club of North Bend and Coos Bay. This Scout Troop is well known for its long history of community service in the Coos County area. Under the leadership of Scout Master Alen M. Aurdahl, Scout Troop #9 has donated the large and beautiful tree to Empire for its annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the corner of Newmark and Wall Streets. The Empire Coalition and Star of Hope thank Boy Scout Troop #9 and welcome the community to come and share in this community event.
